I was tidying my deep freezer yesterday and my 111 was for 5 minutes in a cold enironment. Right after that I looked at it and the dial underneath was blurry. I wiped the front and the bluriness was still there for 15 seconds, when the watch came into room temprature it gradually went away.
Is this normal??? has it happened before? I asked my watchmaker and he said it is either the air that is enclosed in the case or either the crystal due to low temp. I will check on monday for watertighteness cause I am afraid maybe water has entered the case sometime...:-S Anyway the PAM 111 is 3 years old and never checked or serviced before, so I will precautionally check water tighteness on monday and a service at 5 years. What do you think?
Any ideas???

Are you sure there was condensation on the INSIDE of the crystal?? With that massive hunk of 'glass' and any level of humidity, I could see the crystal retaining sufficient cold to cause a QUICK fogging of the outside of the crystal. Was there a lot of moisture in the air??
I s'pose it's never a bad idea to ensure a watch doesn't have moisture inside of it. Gaskets *DO* fail over time... So having it checked for watertightness wouldn't be a bad idea - especially given the value of a PAM.

I do not know if that that was inside the watch can be called condesation, maybe it is maybe its not. Inside the case there is normal air, probably this air got cold and made that foginess inside the watch dut to the low temp. I have seen how condesation looks like inside the watch as I am a diver and had several watches that had failed me in the past. But I was just wondering if this has happened to anyone before, if you are brave enough you can try it with an ice cube on the dial for 1 minute and let me know:-)!
The foginess was inside the watch, and it was on the inside of the crystal not the dial. On the inside side of the crystal, it became blurry there was no visible water or condesation. Thats what I saw...not repeating it B-)probably after ckecking for watertighteness on Tuesday.
Another question???
Is there a way that can be found that no water or condesation has entered the watch case? cause it might be the case that a watch was left with crown unscrewed and if checked for watertightness it may come up OK, so any ideas on that as well???

I left an Omega SMP in my freezer while cleaning it a year back and came to CottyGee conclusion that fog was forming outside as quickly as i wiped it off.
