Hi guys!

I'm a pilot, and breitling owner since 2001.

My Blue Emergency (my only breitling, I own a revue thommen pilot watch to..), just came out from ELT check 3 month ago, right now the antenna became loose, I'mean it is really easy to open, the secrue is in place and not broken, do you think it's a problem?

I'm swiss but right now I live in USA, and I have no idea where take the watch since there are no Breitling dealers in my area, and if I take it back to switzerland I will not see my watch for months, and i can really not live/fly without :-!

Did enybody now if the antenna issue is a problem, or any emergency (I didn't notice that before on mine) can be open (not the entire antenna but just unscrew a little the cap) easy and since the protection is is place it's not a big deal?

thank^s!

I think you should probably have it fixed. That's the part of the watch that I would worry most about. If it unscrews a little there is the potential to come out. I know you don't want to be without your watch for months, but here or in Switzerland, you will be without it for quite a few weeks. But there is some underlying issue with the antenna. Mine is quite snug. I haven't pulled on it, but it's snug to the touch which is the way it should be. I would contact BUSA to see about having it fixed while you are in the states.

where are you right now?

if u go breitling.com/us and "retailer locator" you should be able to find a AD within driving distance.

I live in Central Florida, I found a retailer in orlando, the watch will go to Miami and it will take 6 weeks....I just call them, but I don't now maybe that work is not needed

Doesn't BUSA give priority to Emergencys for repair.
Give them a call (203) 762-1180 and ask

I can verify that this isn't the case for service. Repair may be a different situation.

so Mr. Pilot, do you people got the Emergency because you really think that emergency frequency signal thing can save your life IF accident happens?

so Mr. Pilot, do you people got the Emergency because you really think that emergency frequency signal thing can save your life IF accident happens? What???? :-s Who exactly are the "you people" being addressed by your rather oddly worded question? May I suggest you go to the "articles" section above this forum and research the information provided on that specific timepiece contained therein, then surf the web with any number of search engines asking your question using more subjective wording and you may receive a satisfactory answer. Then again, maybe you really won't... :-(

The Emergency does exactly what it says on the tin, but also states that it does have to be used in a real case of distress where life is threatened after a plane crash.

The way i and most of us look at it is, If it can do that little task of saving ones life, then good, but better still is to hope you never have to use it in the first place.

I know for a fact that its saved the life of at least 2 Argentinian pilots and has also saved a life of some of our own serving pilots from the uk.

Is it worth it, IMHO yes.

Despite that i would still get the watch looked at in case there is a fault.( going back to the original thread)

The question is real strange, especially given his helpful response 11 hours earlier.

Why do so many people that don't have Emergencies (or Missions) have such a bad attitude towards the ones that do? I have seen so many negative comments about these watches and the people who own them.

Unfortunately, I don't have one, but my bad attitude is only directed towards Flyinghell34 because he gets to drive a Rhino and I don't. o| Hahahahahahaha!!!! :-d;-)

I think many people think the inclusion of the ELT is gimmicy and serves no real purpose, thus the knocking of the wach. Unless you are in a profession where that little watch may help save your ass you just can't really understand the need or want of a watch such as the Emergency.

I currently have two B-1's but the emergency is number one on my short list. I have no boubt one will be on my wrist before I deploy in a few weeks.Well if your cheapskate squadron mates would get off their arses and kick in you could have the kewlest Kustom "E" dial ever made! Want me to lobby on your behalf? ;-):-d
Cheers,
Ron
