Hello all,

I was looking at another dive watch and it got me pondering over the Ocean Explorer bracelet. I note the specs as.....

· Screwed bar lugs.
· Solid link stainless steel bracelet with solid end pieces, diver's extension and screwed removable links, signed.

I don't know about others but i know what i would like as part of the bracelet and that is...
1)for it not to taper but keep the same width through to the clasp
2)bar lug screws to be of a hex design and not screw headed, this just for the end pieces as these are what are changed the most.

Though with this bracelet i doubt i will ever bother changing it for diving as it is the spring bars on my other watches that cause me to swap straps, notably to a military strap for diving. This watch looks to be reaching a point of perfection right out of the box, for me anyway.

Just my 2p worth, i was wondering what others are looking at in a bracelet?

Hi Carl.1,

I have attached a picture of the bracelet for the Ocean Explorer. It is the bottom one.

I will use this style until I can find something better

That style looks good to me, neat and solid. Though; is there a divers extension under that clasp as it looks a bit small to me?

One thought...... i would definately pay extra for a bracelet with an Omega quality to it.
The reason i say this is i recall years ago a friend handing me his Rolex to look at, the one thing that has really stuck over the years was that the bracelet clasp seemed to be exactly like the one on the Seiko i was wearing, a huge disapointment, just stamped metal. However, on holding an Omega i was struck by the solid quality of the clasp, nice machined pieces as opposed to the stamped steel variety.

I appreciate the increase in cost a bracelet like this commands, that is why i would pay extra, but it would put the watch in a class of its own. Perhaps this could be an option, that would then mean the watch keeps to your original criteria for quality and price?

the bracelet shown is used on the rasmus. one of the best there is. 5 hole adjustments and a divers extension. a omega style clasp would require adding half links since there are no clasp adjustments on the omega.

That bracelet looks top notch and resembles the one used on my Kenzo Nautilus - an excellent bracelet with a neat divers extension (its a little narrower than the buckle and tapers so much easier to snap out without busting a finger nail). I also like your choice to just a flip lock clasp and not the PAM/Ocean7 style button clasp as those offer less adjustment.

Not that my opinion matters, but I agree. The bracelet like the one used on the Rasmus is the way to go. I like the adjustability.

Yes, it comes with a divers extention :-)

I bow down to the knowledge of those that use this bracelet and have seen it, i have not.

From the comments it looks to be a good piece so i am happy.

My wrist is 9 plus inches around, will that be a problem?

Hi Shortbus,

I will order more spare links for the bracelet just in case, so it won't be a problem :)

Will the watch come with the bracelet and a rubber strap? I really like the Ocean7 Ploprof style soft silicone type strap.

Hi HK Shooter,

It will only come with stainless steel bracelet with diver's extension. Their will be no rubber strap included, only because I want to keep the costs low.

As soon as we find a good quality rubber strap, we will add it to accessories on our on-line store.

Poul

I like the Bracelet you picked. I hope when you do pick a rubber strap, it's thick.

Hi Smiley,

Thank you.
Before I offer any rubber straps to my customers, I will have someone test them for me to make sure they can withstand a lot of physical punishment. I don't wont to offer a product that will fall apart after a year, which I think will reflect poorly on my company.

Poul,

Any new info on the bracelet? Thickness, weight, clasp type (is it a snap or is there a stick and ball as well), length of the diver's extension....

Thanks,
-Chase
