Hello,

I want to buy my first Breitling. Is this a Genuine one.

How is the value of the Breitling Navitimer watches? Is the price of this watch OK.

Thanks for your help and greetings from the Netherlands.

First glance it (the watch) looks genuine but its hard to judge the bracelet, but as Snap-it always says "Buy the seller first , then buy the watch'

translation:
Op het eerste gezicht lijkt het horloge zelf prima in orde. the band kan ik niet goed zien op de foto's / maar zoals Snap-it altijd zegt : "eerst de verkoper kopen, dan pas het horloge"

You didn't mention the asking price, so ti's hard to evaluate if it is fair.
The model # off the back might help as well.
I believe the links on the navitimer bracelet are done in the same way as on the 5 segment Pilot bracelet. If you look at the gold links from the side you should be able to see a layer of gold has been rolled over a steel link. It will not be solid gold link and it is not plated. There is no mistaking the layers.

Anyone correct me if I'm wrong

I am thinking of buying a Chronomat B133.. for about € 1950 of a Breitling dealer or a Navitimer on ebay.com. What to do?

Both are nice watches! I have 3 sons and each of them I have to give them a Breitling when I am old ;-).

What are the average occasion prices for the Chronomat B series and the Navitmer with gold.

Thanks again for your help.

Old Navitimer Steel & Gold was priced new in 2000 at $3325US
Steel & Gold Bracelet was $1775US

Total $5100 in 2000.
I don't know what year this watch is though.

If you you got a $20% discount at the time you could have picked it up for $4080US NEW.

Has this watched been serviced, if not it may be due for one - cost will be about $500.

The ebay seller says:

Prior to sale, this watch has been serviced by Breitling to ensure full compliance with its chronometer specifications.
Included are: Original presentation and outer boxes, all documents, chronometer certificate, extra bracelet links.

The seller wants to sell to me so that is no problem. A lot of buyers from Europe allways ask the seller if he is willing to change the custom form so that you don't have to pay the taxes.

I buy reguarly on ebay.com and also from sellers who don't want to sell international. For know I have good experience but the max amount was
$ 500. But buying a breitling watch for $ 4000 is different. So what to do?

Is there a website where I can see what a Breitling Navitimer of Chronomat is worth.

not really, If I want to know a price range for a certain watch I use the ebay search function on ended auctions, or have a look at chrono24.com and do a comparison

for used watches whats a normal price ?.. dunno .. 50 to 60% of MSRP ? , given that every AD gives 20% discount , depending on service history (as Elliot highlighted) and the overall condition .. sounds about right .. 50-60%

The box shown is a 2000-2001 vintage and the chronometre tag is the same. (Later tags are red on yellow). The seller states chronometer certificate or certification? I don't see the certificate laid out for the photos which is common practice for an Ebay auction sale. The watch would be a model D13320 I believe and the bracelet should be either a 423D or a 425D. If everything is ok, the watch is likely a 2000-2001 vintage. The D13320 was discontinued at the end of 2002 to be replaced by the D23322. Fair pre-owned value of that piece with all papers/boxes and recent Breitling service is in the range of $3200-$3600 which makes his buy it now price of 4K just a bit high. If allowed to go to the end, I estimate about a 50/50 chance a buyer will come in at the last minute and try to snag it at the starting price. It's a crapshoot. If you really like that watch, you are paying a few hundred dollar premium to ensure you acquire it if you go for his Buy It Now at 4K. You might consider instead bidding that amount as your highest bid and I strongly suspect you will win the auction at the starting price or perhaps just a little bit more than that. I've followed these Navi auctions quite closely for the last four years and I base my assertions on those observations but remember, it's only my opinion. In any case, if you are in email communication with the seller I would highly recommend that you request better pics from him before you consumate the purchase. If the sale falls through, I may consider selling my two tone Old Nav (below) which is quite similar. :-)
Cheers,
Ron

Are you going to have to pay a duty or import tax on the watch?

Why not email the guy.
Suggest that the price seems a bit high.
Ask if he'd end the auction early for his opening bid with shipping included.
