Today is our 10th wedding anniversary. I saw this as a good opportunity to celebrate with a watch :-!
But what watch would truly be worthy of a 10th anniversary? How about a Apollo XI 10th Anniversary Speedmaster b-)
This is the first Speedy with a display back and the beautiful cal 863 :-p
It is a pleasure to wear and I ask you, what other watch can match the Speedy heritage? :-)
This was not a cheap exercise for me. Not only did I pay a princes ransom for the Speedy, it also cost me a diamond bracelet (But she is worth it |>|>|>)
Thanks to Jimmoose for his wise opinion when I was looking to buy. :thanks
Anyway, on with the show...

Big congrats on your tenth my friend. I will celebrate mine in 8 days. Unfortunately for me, the wife has only asked what she is getting for the big day and has not even remotely indicated that I will be getting anything.:-( After she gets hers, I plan to lobby hard for a new watch, but after the PO fiasco, I don't see a new watch in my future any time soon.
Seems that your wife is very understanding of your "hobby". Congrats on that as well.

I'm setting up an account in Cayman Islands to secretly finance my illicit purchases. ;-)
It's only the watches with bling that my wife notices (the orange PO caused an uproar).

I hear ya Mike, my wife was the same way when I bought my PO. Here are my 3 rules to live by, they have served me well. 1. It's better to ask forgiveness than permission. 2. You never know the limits of your authority until you exceed them. 3. Never pass up the chance to buy a chocolate YooHoo. - David

1) Yup, live by that one, although I have spent a lot of time in the doghouse for it, or at least on the couch.
2) Concur 100% and just to add, I have no authority.
3) Not a big fan of chocolate YooHoo's but am a sucker for a Starbucks Mocha Frappuchino.
I always think maybe one day she will share my passion for watches, but then again, Im sure she thinks that maybe one day Ill share her passion for purses. Damned if I do, damned if I don't.

Happy 10th to both of you. May it last a long time.
I remember my 10th anniversary, it seemed much longer.
Can't go wrong with diamonds guys. They are an attention
getter for those of us that need that(me). I never bought
myself and annivesary present before, thats a great idea.
The best for you and your bride!
jim
PS
gus, #3 ought to be: never pass up a chance to take a leak.

And never trust a fart....
How did my thread about my new Speedy and celebrating 10 years of marriage to my wonderful wife degenerate into this :-s:-d
Seriously, thanks everyone for the good wishes.
However I thought when you bought your first Speedy Fr John was meant to send you the owners club card. I want one of those more than a platinum Amex. Come on Fr John, don't let me down.
BTW did you know I have a Speedy?

Antistatic, when I read your post above (making a bit of fun of mine), I confess I laughed loud and long, and man, today is a day I sure needed a good laugh. Thank you for that.
And please let me again extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to you and your wife again on your tenth. Best, John
