Dear all,

This is a short note to bring you up to date with what has been going on for McGonigle Watches. It has been a busy year so far and we have met old friends and made many new ones.

We attended the Top Marques Car and Watch show in Monaco in April. This event took place in the Grimandi centre on the coast and coincided with the Monte Carlo tennis open (Nadal beat Federer by the way!) so the town was really buzzing for that weekend. It was fantastic event and very different to something like Basle due to the scale and the hands-on approach of the organisers. Those invited were lucky enough to get to drive many of the supercars on display at the show. Their only problem was the Monaco traffic. As we know cars and watches work well together so many watch aficionados were around and dropped in to see us over the weekend.

Here is a link to some images from the event. You will recognize some very well known figures trying out a McGonigle Tourbillon.

The British Horological Institute celebrated its 150th Anniversary this year. To mark the occasion a horological symposium was held from June 7th to 9th, featuring a series of specialist of lectures and presentations by an impressive array of British and Irish watch and clock makers.
We were honoured to be invited to speak. John gave a lecture on the future of watch making on these islands and how by working together the industry can thrive and innovate.

Many of you have been inquiring about our forthcoming projects. We would much rather show any new work than discuss it in advance. Suffice to say we’re working very hard and we hope that your patience will be rewarded before too long.

All the best,

John & Stephen
