    The $300 Komandirskie

OK, This thing has been for sale for so long, that it's become a fixture that warrants discussion. I'm sure most of us have seen it by now, but nobody has gone for it. It's clearly overpriced, as the market has not bitten, but it is a cool looking Vostok nonetheless, and I haven't seen this dial with that case/bezel combo elsewhere. What do you guys think?

It's a very nice-looking watch. Would love to own it. I have a 3AKA3 Komandirskie with that dial in a regular brass case that I like.

But I can't see paying $300 for an old Komandirskie.

Yes, perfectly normal for that particular dial.

Ah, thanks. Looks pretty clean, then, but $300 is a bit out of whack.

The strange thing is that even the imperfections in the two given example look exaclty the same (i compared the 6 and the 9)...

    Re: The $300 Komandirskie

I was enough lucky to get the same watch for a much less expensive price (without one zero...).

The dial is much more often seen in 2 types of "square" case, each one in two colors (chrome and gold-plated). I would say it's original - on my watch, everything looks correct, hands, crown, the paint seems equally aged on bezel and dial. Usually, when case and dial are supectly not matching, other parts are replaced too.

The only think that makes me doubtful, the messed-up "12", but it's also possible that it was badly restored.

Of course, just my 2 cents...or one cents, if you want. Anyway, i can be sure of the fact that some people is getting crazy. I would not pay $300 for that watch even with a naked Russian girl included.

I'd pay $300 for the watch/girl combo, though my wife is already a bit annoyed by my watch hobby. That would really give her something to complain about!
