    'Bay 1MCHZ Pobeda

is a 1MCHZ Pobeda of some age.

One thing I like about the Pobeda is that they look like WWI "wristlets" or "trench watches". This one with its particular numeral font and the red 12 has the look more than most.

Were it a "buy it now" for $15, I'd do it right now, but the auction end date conflicts with my work schedule-I will be gone when it happens, and unable to complete quickly.

I used this vendor for my last 2 Pobedas, and was entirely pleased-lucky thing, too, since my feedback is all they have so far. New new guys in the game.

Since I'm out of the loop, I offer it to the world. This one needs to be on a brown Bund strap for the proper Great War look.

PS, I have been sitting on a watch grille (shrapnel guard, etc.) about the right size for that one. If someone on here gets it, I'd let them have it for free. If it goes outside the US, I'd need you to pay the shipping, but the guard is free.

Complete the look, so to speak. Annoying but cool, they do protect 'em, but interfere with visibility pretty badly. It'd require a watch about that 32-33 mm size, and a 16mm band. Nickled and unused. The guards made a big comeback in the '80s, and at this point in my life I have no idea if I got it then, or it's an original.

A nice 1MChZ one with a modern Elinvar balance wheel + cock + racket likely from a Zim. Horogicaly efficient adaptation (this link) that reduced however the original character of the watch.

Why don't you use a snipe service?

Would never had spotted the part swap-you guys know much more than I. Impressive.

Darwin would, I think, consider me a dead-end, and certainly from an EBay standpoint that holds true. It always annoys me when I am sniped, so I just can't bring myself to use one myself.

Read your article on the retrofit-save it, too. Very well done. I too like your knife-is there a rule against talking about knives? Anyway, French knives are full of a unique style I personally like quite well.

    Thank you for the information.

Ah, I see, rule #5, no pictures of weapons. Is it a weapon if you open a watch case with it? Maybe to the watch case?

Yes. I noticed several time that rule and I worried a bit... I waranted several times the true pacific use of them!!

They could be used for watchmaking but a bit risky (both for the watch and the knife ... ) .

Let's post another rule-breaking picture to show my prefered politicaly incorrect tool to open snapped case backs (really the best tool I experienced). Also very efficient for mounting/unmounting the spring bars in the lugs.

What an untamed and rule-breaking sort of person you are. I expect to see bayonets and switchblades any minute.

Nepman, the rule about the knife is not important, the knifes can be used for other purposes too.
But you should read the forum rules before posting. Live auction numbers are not allowed. Use just pics from the auctions. Please, don't make me repeat the same thing everytime.

I very much apologize, and I will stop. I had misunderstood the rules, so the violations were unintentional. I have unfortunately never successfully posted a picture anywhere, and after many attempts, so this will limit things a good good bit, but I understand there are rules.
