    Grail arrives! A Denissov Aeronavigator.

    Hello guys,

Last week I was scanning the Watchuseek classifieds for the first time in quite awhile. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular—I just like to see what’s out there. To my pleasant surprise, someone was offering a Vostok Amfibia Red Sea. It’s a fairly inexpensive watch even new and one that I eventually planned to get, but I had never been in a hurry to do so. However, the seller and I agreed to a price that made it a no brainer. If not now, when, right?

So anyway, just two nights later I’m once again looking at the classifieds—just for fun, of course (but deep down I know it’s not good for me!)—when I see someone offering my grail: a Denissov Aeronavigator. As I read the thread title a second time, I was almost hoping it wouldn’t have the black face and black case—that meant I would have to give serious consideration to buying it. My wife fully supports my watch habit, but two watches in four days might be pushing it! So the pictures pop up and of course it has the black face and black case. But once again the seller and I reached a price that I felt was tremendously fair, and my fantastic wife didn’t even bat an eye. Both watches showed up this week, but before I move on to the pics, I’m giving a quick shout-out to the Watchuseek community. I’ve now bought three watches from the classifieds, and each time it’s been a fantastic experience. It’s a testament to what happens when individuals who share a passion treat each other with honesty and respect. Here you go…

Those are pretty cool watches. Looks like you could run a NASCAR event with the Denissov.

I've bought from the shopping forum too - works well.

    That's a fine pair of all-Russian, up-to-the-moment-styled watches.

And I totally agree that collecting watches need not be a source of marital conflict. (which reminds me that it is time I went looking for another Russian watch for Mrs Chascomm).

Congrats on the Denissov AeroNavigator, I have both the black PVC case and black dial and also the white dial. They're great watches!

Ah, a kindred soul! The guy from whom I purchased mine was selling because he couldn't justify owning two Aeronavigators. And incidentally, I was torn between the two versions you have. I love the cream-colored face. For some reason I think it's a little easier to read.

The cream/white dial is certainly easier to read, I also find the date on the black dial very difficult to read compared with the cream/white dial. I really wanted the black dial but when I saw the cream/white dial was the last one in-stock I decided there may not be another chance to get this, so went for both. I like the way the chrome chronography rings go nice on the black dial, but equally how the cream/white dial is much easier to read. Both get noticed very quickly by others on your wrist due to the size and the four screws holding the case down.
    Thanks
    Dave

Both watches look awesome! I have been kind of unsure about the new Amfibias. The more I see, however, the more they grow on me.

may I ask aeronavigator owner what is your wrist size? I have a 6.75 inch wrist and 45mm watches look good, but aeronavigators plastic lugs seem quite long.
