Help with identification of my Vostok

    Hi

Just got a used Vostok in pretty bad condition from Ebay.

I have googled the web and searched this forum, for information, I think it is an Komandirskie Type 33x but I am not sure.

So, can someone help me with getting some info?

    how old is it?
    which model is it?
any other history about this particular watch?

Komandirskies with no place-of-manufacture info on the dial were generally made during the time just after the dissolution of the USSR, so '92-'96 would be my guess. I think you are right about the body type. I have seen that dial and it appears to commemorate Russian civil airlines or a particular airliner, I don't know.

Here's a link to the komandirskie data base. You may be able to find it among the type 33x dial examples found there: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?for...32615656664633

    Welcome to the forum!

No, CJ. The 14 denotes the date function, but I don't know specifically what the 1 and the 4 stand for and I'm too lazy to look it up. I don't remember what the A stands for but it has been discussed on the forum more than once.

I would like to change the dial on my watch, but I suspect that not all komandirske dial will fit due to my slightly rotated movement when having the crown at 2o'clock instead of 3'o clock?

How do I find i Dial that will fit my watch?

You need a dial made for a movement with crown at 2 o'clock if you want to attach it using the holes in the movement and the "feet" on the dial as designed so not all dials will fit this way. You can accommodate other dials by removing the dial "feet" and substituting various devices available for attaching dials which are essentially small squares or dots of double-sided tape (I have had some success using little balls of rodico).

If I were you I would pm Amil here: http://forums.watchuseek.com/member.php?u=135534

He has had some dials for sale from time to time and may have one.

Then, of course, there's always the parts watch route on ebay but the cases on the cheaper ones always seem to be in better shape than the dials.

    Good luck!
