I got my Komanderskie today! Have a question about it.

I got my komanderskie today!

Its this one NEW RUSSIAN MILITARY VOSTOK KOMANDIRSKIE USSR WATCH 431398 - ChistopolCity.

Overall I like it. There is only one thing. Can I change the bezel on it? I find the bezel a bit too busy and garish looking for this watch. I noticed chistopolcity (and possibly other places) sells the older plainer dotted bezel which I like a lot more. will it fit on my watch? The website states it will fit a 430 model watch autos/amphibans. My watch is a 431398. Is there a difference?

If it does fit is there an instructional video of how to do it yourself?

aaaha!!! I bought the same Komandirskie a week ago and I like it a lot! ...
I believe that plain bezel will fit just fine, the dotted one for Amphibias will not... but search further, there is an specific dotted bezel for Komandirskies, this video will do, it's the same principle for any Vostok watch: Vostok Amphibia Bezel Beplacement - YouTube

These Vostok bezels are all interchangeable for the most part. The dots-and-dash bezel will work just fine. Here is mine. The bezel came from a 420007 Amphibia, which I put a Murphy bezel on. I put the dots-and-dash bezel on the Komandirskie as I prefer the more classic, Soviet-era look it has. Also, yes the plain bezel will fit for sure, as this is the bezel that came on mine originally (also pictured below). And the Murphy bezel, while it will fit onto the Komandirskie case, it leaves a bit of a gap/groove between the crystal and the bezel (as I think the crystal is a bit thinner on Komandirskies).

Swapping bezels is super easy. The only trick is the retaining wire has to be exactly in the groove. If you have to force the bezel on with any substantial pressure, the wire isn't in right. It should be a nice satisfying 'snap' on to the case. The first time I ever did this, it took a good 20 minutes of fussing and cussing to get it back together...but I have poor attention to small details like the shape of the retaining wire.

Am I the only one that things pretty much all the vostok bezels suck? The new numbered one on the ministry case is halfway decent, but Im getting a non-insert murphy bezel for mine, most likely...

As far as I know, yes, but I'd hate for someone to risk their money based on my judgement, though, as I am getting old and sometime misremember things. Someone else could chime in with an opinion, maybe? If you really wanted to be sure before buying, shoot Zenitar a message. He does say it fits "many many many others" so I'd guess he'd know what he meant by that exactly.

Yeah I also got the dotted bezel for my Komandirskie (81x) and it fits. Got it from Zenitar as well, but not sure it was this exact one.
Just ask Zenitar. I did the same thing and he replied quickly. The many others, most likely means it will fit yours.

I asked Zenitar and he said he didn't know if it fit. Ordered it anyways we'll see.
