    impressive Peterhoff Raketa added

New with box and papers for 12.59 Euro fresh from the bay.

I like the quick date set function, works very fast and is easy to handle.
This watch is much larger, heavier and thicker than "normal" Raketas and they even equiped it with a mineral glass.

    Greetings
    Phil

    Beautiful pictures as usual.

Interesting that the papers say it was made in Petrodvorets. I had assumed that because it has a Cardi-style case that it was assembled in Moscow.

I think this case might have been manufactured by Vitsebsk Instruments in Belarus (case-makers for many Russian brands), because there were some Vympel-branded versions made.

If this watch was made since the reopening of the Petrodvorets Raketa factory, then this presents a bit of a mystery, because AFAIK by that time, Peterhoff brand belonged to Moscow company Gnomon.

Cardi is Car Design firm (www.cardi.ru). In early 1990s they placed there orders in different factories. Mainly they placed orders in Chistopol. Then they organized there own watch production in Moscow. And some years ago they sold the production to Interex-Orion Company which produce Cardi watch from chinese parts nowadays.

I owned a Cardi-Vostok for some days (it was included in a lot of old watches). It was brand new with box, but it was a sort of cheap, TAG-Heuer style, sporty watch, with plastic dial It was so ugly, that i "cannibalized" the movement and the hands to repair an old Amphibia.

You are right that Cardi-Vostoks are cheap watches. I bought 4 watches when I was a poor student. First was broken, second was lost, third was broken too ( I broke the crystal and demaged the dial) but fourth I wear for 14 years and I like it. It is very accurate +2-+3 sec a day (after some service work)

The case of my watch was exactly the same. I have found the dial - i was wrong, it is made in metal, not plastic, anyway it's very ugly with that "RACING TIME" inscription!
Your watch instead is pretty decent, and worthy to be kept.
