    Meranom worry

Hi, just wanted to get opinions here on whether I should be worried or not.

I purchased 2 Amphibias from the Meranom site on 1st November 2010. The order went through and I received a notification saying that the watches were shipped on 4th November. No watches came and the supplied parcel registration number revealed nothing. I sent a query to Meranom and was given a different registration number on 1st December 2010.

The new registration number showed that a parcel left Russia for Malaysia on 12th November and that's it. I then checked with the local post office and they verified that no parcel with that registration number has entered the country. I sent another query on the 13th December and Meranom replied that they'll send a letter to search for the parcel after 45 days. On the 23rd, feeling rather peeved, I sent another query for an update and have yet to receive a reply, despite a follow-up query on 30th December.

Should I be worried or is it just bad timing?

Meranom is well liked and respected by the fraternity here, and is a member. I'm sure they will work it out for you.

Quick update: I received a registered parcel notification from the post office yesterday. Hopefully it's the watches but it could well be something else as I'm waiting for several other items.

Please keep us posted on your saga. I, too, am considering a Meranom purchase.

Unfortunately, the parcel turned out to be some documents for my office. Yup, I have my Internet purchases shipped to my office address to avoid any delivery mishaps. I don't know if it's because of the recent holidays, but in addition to the watches, I now have 2 other parcels in limbo, despite having them all shipped via registered airmail. SIGH.

I placed an order (Komandirskie) at Meranom 15th December which arrived (UK) this morning. Perhaps they drop-ship some items, in which case they'll be at the mercy of the manufacturers.

An order I placed for a Vostok-Europe through Craig at Russia2all which has taken him an age to source - through no fault of his own.

Hang tight on those Meranom orders and fingers crossed.

    Re: Meranom worry

Meranom site says shut for holidays, so may be the same for Russia Post.

My first non-UK order was with Meranom , after reading reviews from WUS members took the plunge into the great unknown , and seeing Sterling prices on their site was a reassurance, wish all sites would show different currencies ( & yes I know their payment defaults to your card's currancy). According to a photo they sent they are within the works complex and ship for Vostok globally.

Anyway, the quickest shipment so far has taken a week to get to Moscow, and then two days to me , yes I couldn't believe that.
Don't forget a lot of pressies are watches , at this time of year must be very busy.

It's normal for shipping from Russia to take 4 weeks or more. Then you have to add that it's the holiday season, and the unusually bad weather in Europe. But Meranom is a trusted seller, so don't worry.

Just to add; I got an Amphibia from Zenitar and it shipped on December 24th and arrived in my mailbox on January 7th. I thought that was fantastic! He shipped it registered mail from Moscow.
