My first Vostok Amfibian , help needed !

Hello everyone, I just got this watch in a trade, and I really like it, is a vintage Vostok Amfibian made in the former Soviet Union, and it has a manual wind mechanism, other than that I don't know anything about it, here is where you come in, can you tell me what the writhings on the face and the ones on the back mean , what kind of mechanism is inside, how old is the watch, and everything else that you might know about it, I will really apreciated that !
The watch keeps great time and it looks better in real life than in the photos !
    Thank you !

    OK... ready?

The face of your watch says "Association of Islam's Culture of Western Europe" and of course "made in CCCP". The back says "water resistant - AMPHIBIAN - shockproof"

    I hope this helps.

AID - quick correction - it said - Association of Islam's Culture of Eastern Europe. You are on point with everything else. BOCTOK means east.

I suppose these were made to commomerate the association... hmm never new such existed. Must be some kind of KGB thing.

I didn't know of that either, any ideea what the picture on the face of the watch means? I can see that there is the map of Europe , but I can't figure out what is that other thing with the moon on top and everything, any ideea about the mechanism inside and the age of the watch ?

Probably it's a commemorative watch for some congress of this islamic association in western europe...many peripherical repubblics in Russia are islamic and I'm not surprised...

BTW, on the dial there's a green moon therefore the symbolism is accurate.

You could have guessed by the crescent (traditional symbol of Islam), the minaret and the predominant green colour (again traditional) As for the association - the USSR was a huge country and there were clubs, associations and all types of organizations on practically every topic. Also there were a lot of muslims in the USSR so such an organization is to be expected.

Most of the organisations of such kind were curated/sponsored/watched by the KGB. Did anyone really think about such things? Not really. But nevertheless, that was the reality. The watches were probobly ordered for commemorative reasons. USSR loved commemoration, hence an enormous number of pins, postcards, stamps, post cards etc. In your case, this is probobly a pretty rare watch, due to the unique face.

The illustration is of the Kaaba, which is the building at the center of the Grand Mosque at Mecca.
