Mine has been running very accurately for about 4 days now as well. The winding feels solid and the seconds movement looks good.

You're a very brave person! Many thanks for showing us the movement . It looks like there's a few newly machined parts in there...

A very interesting thread, many thanks also from me, fearless Comrade strela167, for opening a brand new watchcase for the benefit of the forum. I am no movement expert (I mostly stay very still ). I can see the Poljot bird logo on the movement. It does look just like the Poljot 2609H shown here:

    Poljot 2609 Movement

    and here

    Orosz órák

Otherwise it does not look like the Poljot 2609 in Comrade ill-phill's site

    movements1

but rather like the 2614 without date on the same site.

When I've refitted a snap-back I hold the lug then press the back by finger pressure, then the oppossing side untill it clicks down.
Is that how your glass broke, by refitting ?

Thanks guys. Trusty Sheffield stainless and a gentle hand.
Passified a little better now, but why no movement stamping ?
I've noticed on some sites the sputnik has having 2614 and also seen as 3105 (no pics.though), is that why , that the stocks are being phased out, and Vostok intend the machines for their own movements...or a re-launch of 26.... ?

Nope, the watch press I bought did the job all by itself

Of course, I tried to snap the case back manually, but there's no way it'll get back in

Btw, I just received the franken Gagarin

?, Made in Moscow, sent to Germany, sent to Moscow ?.
I was emailed by the German dist. that their orderded quantity was not being allowed for export, thought that meant high home demand for a new classic .........Very nice watch, worth the wait.
Congrats !!! and please post pics. when in.
