    My Pobeda

This is my late night ebay purchase.

Anyone have any info or comments? 15 jewel movement. ZIM factory. My main question is why the text is in English and not Russian.

Either way - just a few dollars and I like it. Thanks..

Many soviet watches were made for the export market and so had English verbiage. Nice honest watch, there, jarrodhaz!

Nice little watch, the ZIM Pobeda is never anything too fancy, but they work really well. I have one that is just a mystery...whether it is a fantasy watch or a watch given to certain Soviet Military personnel...I still have been unable to get the question answered. I've even privately spoken with Mark Gordon and no answer. I don't think it's anything terribly special, but just neat.
I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said "....I drank what?"

I look inside myself and see my heart is black, I see my red door and it has been painted black. Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts, It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Close the door, put out the light. You know they won't be home tonight. The snow falls hard and don't you know? The winds of Thor are blowing cold.
They're wearing steel that's bright and true They carry news that must get through. They choose the path where no-one goes. They hold no quarter.

I just bought a Pobeda, my first, on eBay. The case is similar, but the hands are different and there are two fish in Ying/Yang position on dial. Is this a possible Franken?

Here are the photos of my Probeda. Is it too "fishy"?

I would say, art1118 that it's just a relatively modern dial and therefore looks strange. A franken at that price point (probably has the machine-made ZIM movement) is unlikely. That's my opinion!
