I just bought my first Russian watch. It's a poljot chrono. N402083 is the serial number. Can anybody give me an approximate age?

Thanks! I've been looking at some more. I can't believe the quality. I was really surprised when I opened it. Are they really made in Russia? I was talking to a former Russian jeweler and he was saying that Russian gold is more pink. Any truth to this?
Russian solid gold marked 583 is a bit more pink, but gold plating isn't. I certainly am not surprised to learn that you're impressed by its quality; a lot of people speak ill of Russian watches without even seeing one!
That interesting. I got it around 3 went back to work 2 people commented on it by the time I left at 6. I really love this thing. It needs a new band and the crystal needs regluing. I can see some gaps around the crystal seat.
I thought this thread was created by some woman needing romantic advice!!!!!
Damn....
Now that you mention it, it seems odd that the glass is not falling out. Either the gasket has been trimmed or the glass is no longer circular. If I recall correctly, the replacement glass for that case is a weird size like
29.7mm or 29.8mm.
So did I !!!
