It is the first "new" Raketa I see in this forum. Quartz?
I thought that if the venture of NewRaketa should ever sadly fail, it would be a pity not to have had the guts to buy one. Beside Vostok, and in my own opinion, Russian watches nowadays are either fully Chinese, or unaffordable jewels all silver and gold and luxury, or plainly boring.Originally Posted by sci
Whatever one thinks of NewRaketa, it is at least a good evocation of a former Soviet soul. The mechanical perpetual calendar remakes of the original Soviet ones are at €600 too expensive a trade for a new movement. This quartz perpetuates the name, is legal and only costs €200. Mr. Von Polier has been lovely in our short email conversation.
If I am the only one in this forum to own one, I still don't give up my preference for USSR watches after 27 years of collecting...

Ok, without wanting to sound dramatical, some models are for sale. At least one of their reseller in Paris won't order them anymore. Don't know about Russian resellers. It would be a pity to miss an occasion, even if my pocket mass-spectrometer won't ever reveal me the true truth about the item I am wearing today. It sure says Сделано в России, which, true or not, has some more self-respect than Russia (Раша).
Quality a la Volmax, Junkers, etc. Not Soviet, nor Post-Soviet in its lowest acception in the Quality control of our Tatar friends. I do love Vostok, for sure, but come on, Russia can deliver quality finition, why don't they?
