Re: Paketa - crown at 5 - new arrival!

Thank you for the feedback so far,... it's much appreciated.
The comments on the movement inscriptions ,... and the "Paketa" vs Raketa logo on the dial are things I'm embarrassed for not already picking up in my Russian watch educational journey. Thanks all.

I'm still interested to know if anyone can elaborate on the actual watch anymore than the previous posts have. I was perhaps anticipating answers to more basic issues such as whether it's original or not, why there seems to be such paltry info on this quite different looking model and how easy or impossible it will be to locate a proper replacement bracelet for it.
I'm assuming from the lack of "it's a franken dude" comments that it's legit,... but is it a common model that just hasn't been talked about lately or is it a watch I should consider as a rare keeper and look after it better than dropping it into the drawer full of "other" old and beat up watches?

I'd really like one of the lighter dialled versions of this watch too, but I'm wondering what the possibilities of finding another are.

    thanks,...

Mysterian, I saw one of these (sans bracelet) back several months ago ...either on eBay or ETSY. I didn't have any interest in it at all because I don't collect Raketa's. It also was not nearly in as good a shape as yours. I think it may have been a model that was possibly not widely released, or they discontinued making it shortly after starting. I am purely speculating. I think it's real, ....who would possibly want to go to the expense of faking something which is rather complicated. Most of the crazy fakes out there are done on a relatively large scale. i.e. my Chinese Green VDV Paratroopers Komandirskie, Quartz. I think you have a genuine article. I will keep my eyes open for you, and if I see another I will let you know, ok brother!
I was thinking of the immortal words of Socrates, who said "....I drank what?"

I look inside myself and see my heart is black, I see my red door and it has been painted black. Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts, It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Close the door, put out the light. You know they won't be home tonight. The snow falls hard and don't you know? The winds of Thor are blowing cold.
They're wearing steel that's bright and true They carry news that must get through. They choose the path where no-one goes. They hold no quarter.

But in Cyrillic it is НП, instead of НР. Maybe Н (N in Latin) for новая (new) and П (P in Latin) for прецизная (precision)? Who knows.

Definitely authentic (at least, if it has been repaired, the replacement parts are authentic). I have a couple of these. Only one of them came with a bracelet, and I haven't yet found a suitable bracelet for the other one. You might (might!) be able to modify a regular bracelet by using a Dremel to take a notch out.

Lovely! How about a wrist shot? I'll bet it has nice presence...... The dial is in nice shape, too.
As to finding a proper replacement bracelet? I wouldn't hold my breath.......

Re: Paketa - crown at 5 - new arrival!

Here's a little update to this thread.
I've managed to find a couple of friends for my Raketa. This time one has an original bracelet intact, and the other has a very unique fitting that allows any regular leather strap to be added to this single lug watch.
Again,... I'd be very appreciative for any comments regarding authenticity and the like... I still have not been able to find any write up on this odd model.
I sure would like to find a NOS one!!! I'm willing to bet there's one hiding in an old shoe box somewhere just waiting to be sent to me!

Wow, very nice and different. Number three's crown seems a bit odd, perhaps.

I agree,... I didn't really notice it until I took the photos. It's an obvious replacement I believe. It's just too shiny considering the case wear and the color is also slightly different.
I have no idea what the proper crown shape should be...
I also think that the second black dial watch also has an incorrect crown... just guessing though.

At this point, your only option is to send me for free the three watches for recycling. ;)

No, seriously, the rightmost watch of the three has a crown that looks almost too worn out and small for the case, while the middle one is very new looking but suits perfectly the case. Just my two kopecks. Do you want my address for shipping the watches? :)

    Nice collection, Mysterian!

Here is my "crown at 4:30" for comparison, with device for attachement of leather band. I think the crown is correct but the red second hand may be a replacement. Mine has the "НП" movement.
I probably wouldn't have bought it if it had a metal band as I just don't like wearing them.
