    Smile Poor man 1967

I'm in love with the 1967

Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey for my taste AND it seems very hard to find nowadays

Browsing the bay, I discovered the "AMPHIBIAN 2209" which has a similar case…

It took me a while to find one in a good enough condition at a reasonable rate, but I finally got one for less than 40€, including shipping

    Seller's ad :

VOSTOK AMPHIBIAN 2209 ORIGINAL SOVIET MILITARY WATCH

made in former USSR by factory VOSTOK(BOCTOK).
    Mechanical manual movement, wind up,
    body diameter(size) - 40mm x 47mm
    wristband size - 18mm
other features - waterproof 200m, stainless steel case,
condition - watch in very good cosmetic & working condition (it was serviced, cleaned & oiled), keeps good time.

    And some pics :

I bought a couple of tonneaus from this seller before. Please save the photos, as the seller is most likely gonna delete all the photos right after the auction ends.

Very nice! I wouldn't mind one of those tonneau cases myself.

    Cool hey ?

There are a few on the bay… but it's not so easy finding the good quality/price ratio

I couldn't ever think that "poor man" and "Vostok" could coexist in the same phrase!
Enjoy your tonneau Reno it looks just great

and this Ukrainian seller has a large collection, though some of tonneaus he/she sells have mixed parts or something like re-painted dials.

When I saw the 2-tone bracelet in the photos, my first thought was "uh-oh," as that seller has offered a good number of turkeys in the past (fitted to the same bracelet -- he must have gotten a deal on a truckload of them).

Upon examination, however, this looks like a good one -- especially among Tonneaus, which have often led especially rough lives for some reason. Good catch!

The only non-original part is the lume in the second hand, which has been replaced with red paint, probably after the lume fell out at some point. Easily fixed if you even care about it, but not a big deal in my book.

Weezy's a legend -- you can tell by the bottom of my sleeve when you see what's in the bezel

    Thanks !

I honestly don't care too much about the bracelet, it'll probably be replaced by another one (I previously ordered a rally bracelet which will do just fine on this watch ) ; I have one or two vintage 18-22 bracelets that should get well on this watch.

Well, I kinda like the red dot on the second hand, so…

Well, I was mostly after the look, so even if this one isn't 100% original, it doesn't bother me too much.
My knowledge of russian watches is very limited for now, so I guess I'm still in a learning phase
