    Raketa mini-alarm

I am in no way associated with the seller, but it looks good so I thought I'd post a heads-up here for those who were looking for such a thing.

Speaking from experience, it's definitely worth having one of these.

The small Raketa alarms are very cute! I have five, including the model shown. The movements are normally 2609HAs with an "adaptor" for the alarm function. If you need something to wake you up, there are also models with the two bells on top, based on the same mechanism.

My mini is plenty loud enough

I'd be afraid to try on of the double-bell models in case the shock killed me. Usually my puny snap-back Poljot is enough to wake me.

Do those things keep time very well?

I have a big modern serbian made sternreiter alarm and I have adjust the thing pretty much every week to keep it running close to accurate.

I love mechanical alarms they really wake me up. I keep it on a table a little ways a way so I have to get up to turn it off and sometime I gain consciousness and I'm already in from of the alarm.

It keeps time about as well as a Raketa watch that has been left sitting on a table

... because that's exactly what it is!

    Here's the inside story:
