    Slava Project

Hey guys, First I wanna thank art1118 for giving this to me, very cool thing to do!

Now on to the movement. 3056a quartz in non working condition.

    A few questions...

    1. There looks to be tape lining the bottom of the battery cavity. I'm not aware of where the terminals are on watch batteries and where the positive/negative are in the watch, but the tape has me curious. Does it need to be there?

    2. Are 3056a movements easy to come across?

    3. Any suitable replacement if not?

I'm looking forward to this project. Thanks again to art1118!

I have 2 of these watches - one working, one not. I could take a photo of the working one's movement later today if that would help - to see where everything should be located.

watch22 if you could post a pic without the battery in the watch that would be fantastic.

I bought a 301 and put it in the watch after i removed the tape and no luck. I'm wondering if it isn't missing a piece for the negative contact.

Here you go. The positive contact is the fatter one.

BTW - I think this watch is supposed to have the 2356 movement.

Man thanks for posting! It looks like I don't have a negative terminal in the battery compartment...hmmmm. (Not to mention different movement, ha!)

If I can figure out where the positive and negative points are on the 3056a movement I can get closer to ruling that out.

    Any ideas?

You're welcome. Sorry - I have no ideas. I own only 1 or 2 quartz watches in my collection - because they can't be readily fixed. I got this one because of the crazy design.

It looks like you are missing a top battery cover. I think you can just run a copper wire from one point to another touching the battery.

    Re: Slava Project

Thank you for your help and pic! I actually have the battery cover, but is there another piece under the battery? Mine is empty. I've made the watch tick a few seconds by running wires from the positive (right side of the battery) to the only place that works which is the screw above the red coil. That weird plastic washer holds down a contact or two below it.

I''m getting closer to a solution I think.
