    Space Vostok Komandirskie

When I ordered my blue Neptune from zenitar in Moscow, it was a good occasion to order at the same time that cheap space watch discovered sometime ago (2006?) by BrianS. Unfortunately, Brian losts the trace of the pictures where that Vostok was taken while floating in zero gravity aboard ISS or MiR I don't remember. May be someone here kept that picture ?. Brian tried kindly ( :thanks ) to find it again but I was also unsuccessful . The watch was also for sale as a collection object here (on the right of the picture below) :

It has the space division insignia.

That Komandirskie Vostok is fitted with the 17-jewel 2414 caliber, manual winding, chrome-plated case, stainless case back, bi-directional rotating bezel.
I liked very much the original packaging ...

No, no it's a candy box! There is indeed a watch inside!

The user manual/waranty card shows that it's a 2007 edition.

    Formidable Russian watches

    Thanks Marc,

This will go very well in a "Space Watch" topic (ie speedmaster topic) on one of the french forums.

Wow, kind of makes the Speedmaster not so special any more!

I can see the new Vostok marketing message: "Komandirskie: The 'Other' Space Watch!"

Attention! Some speed fanatic claimed that the Strela wasn't the first watch in open space because Leonov wore it INSIDE the suit. When I pointed out the fact that it would have been useless as timekeeper if he couldn't see it, they claimed that this wasn't relevant and without photographic proof the only watches that were used during EVAs were speedmaster ad Seiko...

Does it really make a difference if it's inside or outside the suit ? Pressure ?

    Oh well...

It's different because outside the suit hte watch is in space at zero g, zero pressure, and extreme cold.

In short, it's a real space watch, inside the suit there's no much problem.

BTW, nive Vostok, where it's possible to get one?I'm not really into miltiary watches, but this may be an exception.
