    Question Wostok 2209

    Dear all,
I am an watch-lover from France. On a local market I have bought a Wostok Amphibian with a caliber 2209 for some few cents.

On the dail it says Wostok in the same way as any Vostok watches (with the long line above the K). Is my Wostok the same as a Vostok?
Or is it some cheap replica?

I cant find any info / pictures on the internet from my Wostok Amphibian 2209. Is it waste of money?

    Kind regards!

    Hi,
Nope no picture. (i have no digital camera)

On the other hand i have searched around and i have find a similar watch from our moderator.

Where Boctok stands mine says Wostok. On the back is the English inscription:
    Hermetic 20 atm
    Amphibian
    2209
    shockproof balance

    Why isn’t it in Russian?

"wostok" since it is pronounced like that in english, and it's export model, so the inscription also in english.
    cheers to all

It seems that a lot, if not all, of the

very early Amphibians were marked in English. It is normal and quite common.

    Exclamation Re: Wostok 2209

I think that can be misunderstood easily. Boctok like other ex-soviet watchfactories, made watches for domestic and international market. So more likely is, even Amphibia versions to be made like that. Cyrillic dials for domestic, english dials for international market. And that's nothing to do with earlier or older products.

Yeah, but as far as we know

the earliest of the Amphibia line came in that unique hinged lug case, had slighly domed crowns, that unique sword hand set, and were all marked in English it seems.

I am talking only about the 200 meter Amphibia with the 2209 movements

    Hello,
Mine looks exactly like above exept the collored bezel. Mine also looks un-damaged.

Thanks for the answers, i will ask someone to take some pictures of my watch so i can show it here if you like.

Question Then do we know few??

If that's so for this version of amphibia, then is the one mentioned above an exception??
