Man, there was a golden-colored version of this on ebay last night for $49 US Dollars shipped - but it just did not look as nice as this silver version. I would have bought it otherwise. *sigh* This is the most interesting and decorated looking rear-inside view I've seen in this price range. Must. Have. Blue. Screws. (but also must be in my poor-man's price range)

I also saw that rose gold one on eBay. I didn't go for it because of the two tone gold coloring on the watch. Rose gold on the case and yellow gold on the skeleton movement. Ick. If they had left the movement in silver I would have settled for the rose gold even though, like you, I prefer the silver/silver combo.

The silver colour version seems to be available in China.

If you want to go through the trouble of buying on Taobao there are some there for less than $40 (plus shipping). EYKI SS0076G_?

If you don't, the black dial version can be purchased here for slightly more: R4, R4i, AK2i, DSTT, DSTTi, NDS Console, Video Game Accessories, Mobiles, Electronic Gadgets - EYKI SS0076G

I can't comment on any seller, however.

Edited to add: It might be difficult to order anything from China until after the holidays there.

That's just it. Going through the "trouble" of Taobao. Keep hoping something will pop up again with eBay sellers from China without the mulititude of steps involved with Taobao and trusting the seller. Thanks for the link. Short on details of the watch though. I think there are different sizes. It could be misinformation in the details of different sellers. With such an odd shaped case it varies so I don't know if dimensions are lug to lug, side to side, with/without crown? I have seen as little as 38 mm and as much as 51mm. Could be width X length. If it really is 51mm lug to lug then it is likely on the large side for my 6.5" wrist.

First, a thanks to Reno for the word that such an homage even existed. I've wanted a "Ventura" for a while, but unwilling to fork over the $$$ for a reissue.

Out of the blue I stumbled across this site:

    CommonSense Audio

Mine arrived today. Looks *IDENTICAL* to the Eyki...except as the pictures on the web site indicate it's totally sterile. No "Eyki" on the dial, no text on the back.

Has anyone encountered this version before?

Good to know there is another source but the question is, has it the same grade of movement in it and ist there any type of QC involved?

It looks idential as far as I can tell comparing mine to the close-up pictures I've seen of the Eyki - e.g. the movement details with the jewels, same band (which I replaced with a Hadly-Roma). Keeping pretty good time within my expectations for an automaic (within 10 seconds a day), and the movement hacks.

Here is a photo of mine (sorry it's from the camera in my phone):
