Hi. I noticed a previous thread about Barraud & Lunds and hope someone may be able to give me some information about mine. (see atached photos) On both the face and inside are the numbers 3 over 3957. The watch was presented to my great grandfather in 1889 for his work in a mine disaster when he was Colonial Inspector of Mines in New South Wales. It originally had a substantial gold fob chain although this has susequently been lost, as has the key. The watch is still in its original Barraud & Lunds box.
The watch is in perfect condition and I suspect has not been even wound in 100 years. As its current custodian I am interested in knowing what it would be worth for insurance purposes getting some suggestions as to an appropriate person to inspect and service it for me, preferably in Sydney.
