    Favre-Leuba Sea King

I recently posted s few pics of my collection in the public forum and was suggested to post the pics on my Favre-leuba Sea King in this forum. I was once showing my dad my collection and he told me that he had a FL when he was in college. Since then I had been on the lookout for a FL for myself and finally found one on eBay for a really low price. I cant open the case back so I don't have a pic of it yet but I fell in love with it after I saw how clean it was. The band is 16mm which makes the watch look really small on my wrist. I was thinking of replacing it with a bund-style leather band. What do you guys think? Will it go well with the watch? Any suggestion greatly appreciated.

    Hello

I wouldn't fit the bund leather strap... just not the watch for that... Favre Leuba are generally very fine designs rather than being chunky (but well, when they do get chunky, they get REALLY chunky)...

Just wear it for what it is... from memory they are about a 30mm diameter case and they look good with a nice brown leather strap, rather than black, if you want to give it a bit more presence on your wrist.

I have also seen a 'tropical' strap look good in kahki (olive green) colour - but that was with a black faced sea king.

Thanks for your suggestion. I see what you mean. When i got this watch, it came with a brown leather strap, but the quality isn't that great. I'll get a really nice great quality brown leather strap for it now. Something that it deserves :)

By the way, I am a little curious, did u replace the leather band on your Sea-King or is the original one?

None of my watches have original bands... I have big wrists so always need a 'long'. Plus very old leather is not fit for use as a band IMHO... too fragile... too rough... too ugly.

Did you notice Dr. Ranfft's comments about this FL calibre? Very interesting...
