Movement ID needed, Parrenin????? Anybody seen one of these?

This movement is inside an incoming 1970's JAZ 17 jewel dateur:

From just the balance cock it looks distinctly like a Parrenin, see the Parrenin HP 60 in my Ultra Racing for example:

Nothing like the JAZ movement shows up in Mikrolisk or any other of my references as far as I can see. I have copy of a document produced by the Swiss for their Douaniers in 1972 listing EU ebauches of comparable status to Swiss movements of that time. In this there's reference to a Parrenin HP741D, which fits the bill from the very basic description, but other than that I can find nothing at all. Any clues, suggestions or ideas would be most welcome.

    Thanks
    John

As usual, I can't help. But I was the other (opening) bidder - and would have bid more except I got distracted. Its a very clean looking watch John - congrats.

Many of my pictures were posted via Webshots which has now closed - and so have disappeared from WUS. Sorry.

Please don't PM me to ask for a valuation - I won't attempt one.

Sorry Marrick if I"d known it was you I wouldn't have bid. I bought it to complete the JAZ band, clock, manual, automatic, electric and LCD.

There's a couple of English guys living here, who, for some reason, only seem to sell on English fleabay. The best is Stan aka Monty54848_123, who's a retired watchmaker now living in Brittany. His daughter lives not far from me and he always drops in for coffee when he's down visiting her, bringing his goodie box naturally!

I don't buy much on the UK site, as there's generally more than enough on the French site, so I'll leave it to you from now on!

I'm pretty certain it's a Parrenin of some kind, and I'm sure I've seen one before, but I just can't ID it for the moment, but given enough time I'll turn up something about it I'm sure.

I have a couple of those stashed away somewhere! Christoph Lorenz states it's a CRC movement (Cal. 860):

Das Metatechnische Kabinett - Uhrwerkehersteller: CRC

    ...which, according to this link:

    http://uhrforum.de/franzoesische-uhr...erlagen-t91931

...is equivalent to "Montres Esperanto" from Morteau.

I've uploaded some details from "French Watch Movments - Their Technical Characteristics" (it's the same book in Hartmut's link)

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers from the cellar

Thanks very much Hartmut, and Esperanto was, according to the Besançon archives, a brand of CUPILLARD-VUEZ et RIEME (anciens Ets Maurice BUSSARD), so I've plenty of avenues for research.

Thank you my friend, that's really kind of you to go to so much trouble. That's the second time you've put me on the right track if I remember correctly. Now, all I need to do is to try and find out more about CRC/Esperanto!

    Many thanks once again

    Hi Joe

Sounds like the same one, a late JAZ without the bird logo, looks like it might need a new crystal at some point, will see when it arrives.
