Semithin Gruens had no serial numbers and different markings to distinguish from other more expensive models. However were commonly in nice cases and adjusted. 1910+ and 1930+ examples here. Both marked Gruen Guild, no serial numbers, adjusted 15j. Early ones marked DG&S for Dietrich Gruen & Sons. Others Gruen and Semithin. Many different models. Have 19j 5 position adjust. A not well known is 716 and 717 shown here that is thin as an Ultrathin nearly 1 mm less than Verithin, and 4mm smaller diameter. There was a Louis IV gold fill that was the most elaborately decorated case and dial of any Gruen models. Fred Gruen patented dial design which sold well so not rare. Photo shows 1918 Louis IV Semithin marked Gruen and the fine Aeby, Madretsch 21j that is the best early Gruen ~10 size..Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437Attachment 749437
