    Three vintages in the post

    Hi,

My dad sent these in the post today, he's a military historian specialising in badges and insignia, but he's pick these up on his travels as well. Knowing my love of watches he sent them to me, any information on these would be much appreciated (apologies for the photography):

    1. Josmar 15 Jewels

    • Movement has 'Swiss Made Unadjusted 15 Jewels FIFTEEN' engraved on it
    • Case back has 'Fond Acier Inoxydable Swiss', inside the case back it has faint markings engraved on it, possibly service/owners markings?
      • WF-81652
      • O/W 998
      • OS 471
      • C 8762
      • A 1617

    • Movement has UROFA 58 engraved on it.
    • Case back has the military issue arrow and 673984 stamped on it.

    • Case back (inside and outside) has TIMOR WWW K 7957 37857 and the military issue arrow stamped on it.
    • I can't see how to open up the internal case to view the movement, the crown comes off easy enough but it seems to be a sealed unit, is that possible?

Any thoughts would be most welcome, and again apologise for the photo quality.

    Thanks
    Charles

    Hi there,

The Timor is a very nice watch and part of the 'Dirty Dozen'

    W.W.W. - Wrist Watch Waterproof

I guess you have been unscrewing the stem screw - hence why the stem is coming out?

The dust cover should just lift off as far as I am aware...

    Hi Marc

Yes the small screw hole in the back unscrews the crown, the movement is then free from the case. I'll have another look tomorrow at seeing if it is a dust cover...

    Cheers

Well what a great dad you have on buying you these pieces, would love to give you info on these but I am not as knowledgeable as some guys in here, I just like looking at all the different kinds of vintage pieces people find.

All the attention I think will be on the last one, and I agree though I wouldn't call it a dust cover since it clearly doesn't have that function, but it should be just a movement spacer and will lift out, might just be a bit tight or sticky.

First one is a pin lever, I'm sure someone will identify it for you, second should be an early Forties watch when the fashions had changed back to round watches and they had stocks of the old rectangular movements to use up. I can't identify it either.

    Thanks for the replies.

I got the 'dust' cover off of the Timor, the balance wheel doesn't turn properly so it's probably taken a bash at some point and broken the escapement.

    Markings are:
    SWISS MADE
    15 JEWELS 4 ADJUSTMENTS
    CAL. 6060
    TIMOR

They'll all be going on sale on eBay shortly (Dad's idea before you ask ), pm me if interested in any of them.

    Hi Charles!

Your Wagner was made by the Uhrenfabrik Ernst Wagner, Pforzheim, Germany. Find some info here.
IMHO itīs made pre WWII, but surely not for the British forces. So the Broadarrow engraving probably was either done later to make it more interesting and valueable, or the watch was captured during WWII and used for military issues in the British Army(maybe some experts can answer if this had been practise).
German marks for military use are not present.

The Josmar has a Roseba movement in it, e.g.:

...and the Wagner an Urofa Cal. 58:
