I am thinking about purchasing this from a local online antique dealer but could not get any info from them...
I need some urgent help on dating and some info on a Bulova watch.
Is it desirable? What sort of movement would it have?
any info at all would be appreciated...
This looks to me to be a fairly modern watch made well after Bulova ceased being anything but a marketing name. It is probably quartz and, if so, keeps good time.Originally Posted by sbe83s

Most Bulovas have a 2 character code like L7 or something similar on the case to identify the year of manufacture. I don't see that on this case so...
The style doesn't help either as it could be anywhere from the 1940s to the 1980s.
If we had pictures of the movement it might be useful for ID.

No. Bulovas aren't that valuable at the best of times. Also, nobody gets rich collecting Vintage watches. You'd be better off investing in Credit Default Swaps, frankly.

Below the number "6", it appears to say something. What does it say?
The proportions suggest that it might be a small woman-sized watch. It looks like it says 'Swiss' very faintly at the bottom of the dial. The bold numbers give it a 1970s look. The lack of jewel count may mean that the watch is of fairly ordinary quality.

Almost definitely a ladies' watch: no seconds hand. Many of the ladies' watch movements lacked this, as there was little or no room to incorporate this meaningfully...
