I think you're not going to get it for $50. I bet the reserve is higher than that by quite a bit!

If you want a vintage watch, my suggestion would be to do some more research. Check out as many vintage watch sites, and forums vintage collectors frequent, as possible. Follow Ebay auctions, and use the 'Completed Listings' to figure out what the pieces you are interested in go for. Ask questions here and elsewhere.

BUT...don't ask question or post links on public forums to any watch you intend to bid on. While you may get answers to your questions, you also bring interesting watches to the attention of all those who view the forum, and no, they won't all stand politely back and let you win the auction. If you learn who's knowledgeable about particular brands, you can ask them questions by PM about particular watches without alerting the larger audience.

Also, I note that you're drawn to listings that are well presented - lots of beautiful pictures and descriptions, etc. You will never, ever get a bargain from those listings. Those pieces will almost invariably bring lots of bidders and often go well beyond the average price for that same piece. If you want ONE nice vintage watch, you can go with the beautiful listings put out by the dealers who get top dollar, and you'll have a watch that you can be happy with. But you should expect to pay a premium for it.

If you want to build a collection, you have to choose a specialty and learn as much as possible about it. Your goal would be to know more about the watches you want than the people who are selling them do. I've gotten most of my best bargains from listings with minimal information and lousy pictures, because I spent a lot of time learning about my brand, and figuring out what watches I want. THEN I go find them.

    Good luck!

It is a nice looking watch, but it's 1926 not 27.

It's also not an 'Executive', which is a SQUARE watch while this one is elongated, not to mention the Executive lacks a sub-seconds dial. I tried fruitlessly to find it on mybulova.com yesterday. It's close to a President, but it's not curved enough and the lugs aren't right.
