Pilot - 7750 Chrono CAD drawings

This is a good start. We're open to making changes that will keep the same character, yet separate it from other, similar pilot watches.

Feel free to post your ideas.

The white dial will be full lume using BGW9 with black hands and markers.

PS - the crown is 8mm. Unfortuntately we don't have room for a "Crow".

I'm not sure about these. To me, they look like larger versions of the Damasko DC56 and DC57.

The LM-2C was a fantastic design that was completely different from anything else on the market.

Not every design has to be groundbreaking. I think there is a substantial market for this kind of generic pilot design, and if we add a hardened case and maybe 2 side Swiss AR, we should have a winner, especially if it is priced aggressively.

Maybe this will be the start of a new bread and butter line of watches. We will still continue doing things out of the box, but we need this too, to continue to grow the company. The dress watch is also part of this concept.

OK...I get where you're heading with this. Adding something that will distinguish them from the others will help...but, you'll need to really promote it to make sure that potential customers can see that going with AirNautic is the clear choice.

For me, the fact that it is a 44 mm case is a definite plus. The Damasko ones are only 40 mm and that's just too small for me. The use of a hardened case, two sided AR, and attractive pricing would sell me on this watch.

On the movement and dial side, would you be able to source a 775x with the day and week day display? I think that having the day of the week to the left side would add a bit more "content" to that part of the dial.

I really like the Steinhart Nav.B-Chrono II. I think they got it right and I like the nice touch of using the same style of hand on the seconds sub-dial.

One final thing...What do you mean by "Crow"? Is that like mini-crown guard?

Like what Marcin said, this looks like the other pilot chronos out there- Archimede, Damasko, Steinhart.
The key would Given the properties of most of these are quite common (eg 7750) it would be good to make a clear distinction between the airnautic and the others. Size is one way of doing it, using double AR is another. Hardened care may suit some although I prefer the satin brush finish like IWC better. Adding colour to the hands also helps again examples are IWC with red propellor second hand and the Steinhart uses a lovely blue in its hands.
I wonder if sizing it at 44 will make the dial look too big?
Anyhow I'll follow this one with interest
    Watch list:

I have a Debaufre (same as Steinhart) Nav.B-II automatic in 44 mm and it's just right. The dial appears large but suits the watch very well. For a chrono, having a larger dial is better as it allows for the hour markers and numbers to be a bit farther out from the sub-dials...helping to improve legibility and reduce clutter on the dial.

Since I am not one to leave things the same these would be my suggestions.

    1. Most important, add 5 minute markers on the top chrono register.
    2. Ditch the numbers and use larger hour markers.
    3. Increase the black base on the hands.
    4. Paint the stop watch larger seconds hand red.
    5. Paint the Swiss Made at the bottom dark grey.
    6. Offer a bracelet for it and a rubber strap that has fitted ends similar to the Sinn U style.
    7. Day/Date window.

And the white version with various color rubber straps.

How about using straight hour and minute hands? I really like the set used on my Fortis B-42 Chrono and they would be in line with those already used on other AirNautic watches.

Also, I second Canon's comments regarding the 5 minute marks on the 30-minute sub-dial.

I like numbers on Pilot watches and keeps them closer to the look of the dials in the cockpit. Instead of red in the long second stopwatch hand, how about the little running seconds hand

    Re: 7750 Pilot Chrono drawings

I think 5 minute marks on the 30 minute register are a good idea. I do like having numbers on the dial, thought. I'm not sure about using red on the second hand.

We won't buy day/date movements. I don't like them much, and most people I've spoken with seem to prefer date only movements. It's one less thing to set when you don't wear the watch daily, and hopefully we all know the day of the week.
