    Colt 41 size comparison

Does anyone here have a Colt 41 automatic ?

I dont have a dealer near by and was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on size comparison.

Like a Colt 41 side by side with a Seiko SKX, or a Rolex Submariner..

    Anyone ?

I've just ordered one in at local AD. I'll update next to my sub if I either buy it or don't buy it and remember to snap a pic

    Re: Colt 41 size comparison

I just picked this watch up from another WUS member.

tbh, my daily beater was an Oris BC3 which I believe is a 42mm, but the dial face is basically the size of the whole watch, I think 40mm (don't quote me on that!).

So, my initial impressions on the colt 41mm was that it "looked" small because the watch may be 41mm, but the dial face is around 36mm (again, don't quote me, haven't measured, but I know there's a lot of metal around the actual face).

All in all though, it was a perspective that my mind adjusted to, because now, I feel that the watch is just right on my wrist, which is a bit thinner (just under 7 inches around). Here's a pic!

    Colt 41 size comparison

I don't have comparison shots with the SKX or Sub, but here's a 41 with a 45mm Avenger II Seawolf. As noted by another poster above, the 41 dial wears smaller than its stated dimensions due to the bezel thickness. The dial itself is closer to 36 or 37mm.

Aside from the smaller dial, the Colt 41 is also much thinner which makes it slip more nicely under a shirt cuff. I've been wearing my 41 on suit days and my Seawolf with everything else. FYI, my wrist is about 7.5".

Agree with your points! Thank you for showing the comparison side-by-side! I'm considering another watch for less formal wear, and wearing the colt for suit days, as you mention. I agree the colt is thinner and easier to wear with cuffs.

For you 41 owners, how is the all polished bracelet? Seems like a bizarre design choice. That's the one thing holding me back.
