    Identification Help and Manual

    Hi Guys and Girls,

I was given a Breitling watch by relatives some years back and totally forgot about it. Recently I take it out of storage and forget how to operate it, there is no box and manual available. I don't even know which model this watch is.
So anybody can recognise it and have manual for it, would be greatly appreciated.
Attached is the pic of both the face and back. Below the logo on the face of the watch, there are writing of "BREITLING 1884" (not seen / very faint in the pic). This model is more than 10 years old, I think.

    Thanks,

    Hello apocalypse,

    Welcome to our forum.

My next comments are not meant to be toe crushers. The watch you have shown us is not a genuine breitling. I am 99.99999% sure of this. I'm sorry to have to bring you this news. It is a mixture of styles and features not found, ever, in the Navitimer line nor the Transocean line which this watch incorporates in to one seemingly genuine watch. The navitimer in this configuration was never powered by a quartz movement which this watch is. That ends the points of difference for me. I could go on and on but will spare you the nitty gritty details. Thanks for posting and I hope this won't be your last.
    Cheers,

    Hi SnapIT,

Thanks for your reply on this matter. No matter whether this watch is original or not, but important is I now know for sure. I suspected it as much that this is not original, as I couldn't get any reference to this model in any of the websites available on the Net.
Anyway, I suspect it as it has 3 buttons, 2 on the right and 1 on the left, while all of the model available in the internet (Navitimer) only has 2 buttons on the right side of the watch.
Are there any original Breitling that has 3 buttons, on left and right side?

Having said that, any way to be sure that the working of this watch is the same with original? If so, are there any online manuals that I could download?

    Thanks again and cheers,
    Apoc

Well, the thing is, it has a quartz movement. From what I've seen from viewing thousands of images this movement is similar to the eta quartz movements used in swatch watches and many other brands of quartz watches. But if its a strange low grade mechanical then things are doubtful.
What does the crown on the lower left do when pushed?

Does this watch wind by turning the crown?

On the other hand, well, who knows, unless you take the back off the watch its hard to tell. Can you do that and take a photo for us. That might settle quite a few points.

    This one, for instance, has:

    Hi Don,

Thanks for the reply and pic, what I meant is actually is there any original model with 3 push buttons and another dial like the model I have.

    Hi SnapIT,

I also totally confused regarding the left button, it does nothing when push, so add to my confusion. however on some occassion where the turning face of the watch is rotated to some point of the 360 deg rotation, it will move the upper left small face, while the upper right small face is always showing second, and the middle lower small face is showing the date.
This confused me even further, because on some rotation degree added with random push of one or combination of the 3 push buttons (I am not sure on how, what sequence, etc, still trying to figure that out), the second hand on the watch will move, on current setting like the one seen in the pic, the second hand don't move at all.

BTW, it runs on battery, and sadly I can't open the back of the watch, it need those pointed wrench they have at any watch shop.

So, I am still confuse until now, but thanks for all the help anyway..

    Cheers,
    Apoc
