Navitimer World with rubber strap

Any thoughts about the idea of a Navitimer World with a rubber strap. Is this just "wrong" or can it be pulled off?

I just ordered a blue Diver Pro II for my white dial Navitimer World. I'll post pics when it arrives. I think that the DP II will look good on any watch. The smooth sides don't make it look distinctly diver like. JLC puts a similar looking rubber strap on their Reverso Squadra line.

That's exactly what I was thinking about. My next watch will be the Silver Navitimer World and I was thinking about a blue rubber strap. I really wanted the blue leather strap, but I'm afraid here in FL that it would not last long. All my watches have bracelets, rubber straps, and one with a nylon strap...thanks for the input.
