New Colt Crono Auto vs. Used Chronomat 44mm

What do folks think about these two options? I am torn between a brand new Colt Chrono Auto and a lightly used (few months old) Chronomat 44mm. Price is roughly the same. Would love to hear thoughts...

Aside from the movement (ETA vs B01) what are the reasons why? Do you just like the way it looks better, or are there legitimate horological reasons why too?

Well... Chronomat has 70hr reserve, Colt has around 42hr that’s due to the jewels I imagine but the in house movement holds some horological importance wouldn’t you think? I feel it sets it apart from other watches that may share the 7750 movement in the colt. I think the bezel on the Chronomat sets it apart while the colt shares one with many past models. The chapter rings... The bracelet differences.

Both are are chrono Certified though. And the 7750 has a cool feeling on the wrist, though the heavier colt case does cushion that “alive” feeling some.

I prefer the Colt as well...but you should go for what you like on your wrist.

Used chronomat gets my vote. IMO it feels more substantial than the colt, plus if you decide to sell down the road you won’t be taking too much of a loss compared to a brand new colt.

Just a man staring at a watch, but not looking at the time.
