    OEM Rubber and leather quality

Hey, I'm new to breitling but not in the watch world.

Recently acquired a superocean abyss 44 and fancy some rubber strap to change pace and reduce weight on steel bracelet.

While I took the plunge for oem omegas rubber, I'm more worried about breitling quality...

Saw several pictures which show lint and dust on oem breitling rubber or straps that were curved and in poor shape. Rubber isnt supposed to catch lint nor to distord that much.

Whats your experience with breitling oem rubber straps?

Also I like the leather with colored lining and sides that came on those series. I know its expensive but hows the quality ? Easy to break in, can last some years if wore with care ?

    OEM Rubber and leather quality

I've got a diver pro III on deployant and I think it's great. Nice and thick, supple and very comfortable on the wrist. I've had a diver pro I on tang buckle before and that was also fine. My only complaint about rubber straps is that they tend to lose their matte finish over time and adopt a sheen - but I find that happens with all rubber straps. Breitling rubber straps from the boutique are quite reasonably priced compared to online sellers and to other equivalent brands. The deployant on the other hand is expensive!

Edit: I've also had an Ocean Racer on deployant and had no problems with it at all.

I've had several Breitling rubber straps and never had an issue with them collecting lint or dust at all. I've also purchased non breitling OEM straps that are much cheaper and of parallel quality. Watchobession have some good straps at decent prices.

The only issue that I have with Breitling leather straps is that they utilize white thread on them, on some watches it may not be a big deal but on others it detracts from the watch!

Bought an ocean racer with deployment clasp. AD had all in stock. Nothing to say; thick and supple strap, nice look and the buckle alone. Heads from the Omega one with no sharp edges, perfect polish et micro adjusting isnt too sensitive once set in. Good way to invest $$.

Was around 400$, mostly the clasp. The rubber was only 60$, again nothing alike Omega charging almost 300$.

Totally agree. The folding clasp isn't cheap but it's amazing quality, and the rubber straps are very reasonably priced. I picked up a new mesh rubber strap from the boutique today for £60. Compare to at least £170 for an equivalent Omega rubber strap. Go figure...
