At what age did you purchased your first Breitling? And the second, the third, the fourth... etc!

Hi guys I was wondering, at what age did you purchased your first Breitling?

And the second, the third, etc... Just curious!

I'll start, I bought my first Breitling at the age of 16, a Breitling Jupiter Pilot(I loved it!):

Then still at the age of 16, I bought my first automatic, a 1998 Breitling Colt SuperOcean:

And now at the age of 17, I bought my first chronograph, a 1967 Breitling Cadette ref. 1159! my all time favorite!

I am now 17 years old, and really hoping to have someday a great collection like the one's I see in this forum! So I guess my current collection is a good start. At least I hope so!

How about you guys? What were your first Breitlings?

Oh and sorry for the bad quality pics

    Regards,

    Gonçalo

Ok ok! Now I'll start this off by asking... What do you do to afford such high-caliber time pieces at your age? Granted, when I was 16 I could afford to do so as well. I had no friends, so I mowed lawns, shoveled snow, and detailed cars; except I saved all my earnings...

Just curious. Good collection though my friend!

    Cheers!

Hi! Well I'm not a welthy guy. This watches were the result of raising every little money that I had and trading rare toys and pens that I had at home, pens like scheiffer, montblanc, that were abandoned here.

And I forgot to mention, that I also sold the first to buy the second, and the second to buy the third!

I'm a watch fanatic since I was about 14 years old and I was really frustrated because I loved Breitling (and Omega) watches and knowing that I had to wait for so long to have watches like the ones I have now, really gave me the motivation to put all my efforts to beat the odds and have these watches!

So these are result of a lot of determination, because everybody told I couldn't do it, and even today people still are very suprised on how I got these watches. I don't have a lot of money, just my determination, and raising every penny I can get!

What's your current collection by the way? If you don't mind me asking.

    Regards,

    I am impressed! Good work!

As for me, I am a big 'Tool Watch' type of guy. I have pretty much been wearing Luminox since I was your age. Still am, however since being a part of this web forum I have been learning a lot. I am in the process of purchasing a Marathon GSAR, Resco Patriot, and an Olivier. I have a thing for smaller watch companies that do smaller runs and do not advertise. Plus I like that Military look as well. The Super Ocean Steelfish & Ball Hydrocarbon is on my eventual list also... I do see a lot of those Breitling models for some sweet deals.

So that almost completes my goal of 7 watches by the end of this year. I am still thinking of what I want to do for my 7th. Bell & Ross BR01's I like, however I would have to get an exceptional deal on them. That is a company that spends millions I am sure on advertising which jacks up the prices way too much for how long they have been around in my eyes. I will probably find a nice used one eventually with that one.

Furthermore, I would like to own a 1981 Rolex Submariner Date as well. Just for collective purposes. (My birth year)

I'm sure my goal of seven pieces will turn in to a freaking glass case filled with closer to seventy with the way my hobbies go. But whatever, I just like accurate time pieces dammnit!

My first Breitling, the Premier was presented to me by my first boss at Xmas 1956, when I was 16.

I had looked after the home office and edited the master tapes of radio shows while the Ron R Beck Radio Productions recording crew were away for about 2 months recording a series of shows around the country. My late folks were at that Xmas party and smiled all evening.

I've never forgotten that event, I still have my Premier and it still works, the tick tick is as fresh and exciting as when I first heard it. Mr. Beck was a mentor for many years ..

Ron Beck (IV) - Biography Here's the first thread if you haven't seen it and have 10 mins .. Premier for sale.

    Cheers Spaulding.

Thank you! I wish you good luck!

If you like that military look, why not a Breitling Blackbird (the old one) with the B13 caliber? it's a stealth version of the chronomat, with the brushed steel. I absolutely love it! I think it has a subtle military look.

But in terms of prices, perhaps the superocean is a better choice.

WOW you're the first and only owner of your premier! That's fantastic, congratulations! I've read your story! When you were 16 and your boss gave you your premier, where you already a sucker for watches? Or was that later?

I'm 31 and I bought my first and only last year. Had to have a navitimer in the collection. Truly one of the all time greats. People who have multiple ap's pp's rolex's won't have a complete collection without one.

Forgot to add that I'm really starting to get a hankering for a blackbird. Which was what got me into watches in the first place. I'm almost mad at myself for not getting that as my first. I thought it was more important to have a navi especially after they came out with the in house movement.
