What would YOU say is the Quintessential Breitling watch?

I keep falling in and out of THE Breitling watch...

In a strange way, the brand is kind of polarizing.. On one side, they have the Navitmer 01 - classic look, which is the poster-child IMO of breitling watches, then on the other hand they have the big honking heavy metal watches...ala Superocean, Chronomat, Seawolf, Avenger and the Super Avenger II (my fist B- watch )

IDK what do you guys think ?

Navitimer is a great watch that will stand the test of time. My next watch will be a Super Ocean Heritage in 46mm, blue dial and bezel. Holy Grail watch is blue Transocean on mesh bracelet(the one David Beckham endorses.) My 1st high end watch was a Super Ocean. After reading this, maybe I should look at a Navitimer too.

I presume you mean of the current catalogue of oversize watches. Originally, the Navitimer was a 40mm beast and all others were much smaller, but things at Breitling have changed dramatically over the years. Very few of their watches are below 42mm now, so in my opinion there is little in there current lineup that could be called quintessential.

Well, if 42mm is your cut-off for "oversize", then there are plenty of respected brands out there that share the same "affliction"...

I would say that it's the Navitimer.

NAVITIMER, for sure. You can spot one 5 barstools or two tables away and know what it is. PURE BREITLING!

I have to go along with the majority here and say it's the Navitimer. I have never owned one, I have a Seawolf with baton markers and enjoy it a lot. Jmho.
