My Glauco's strap just gave up the ghost. As noted in a thread from 2010, the leather strap is secured to itself on the lug end with glue. It has a small metal reinforcement, but the design is still very weak and prone to failure. Too bad as the rest of the strap is still serviceable. At least it was inside a jacket when it gave way and I was able to keep it from falling. If you have a similarly designed strap be careful. I am now on a quest for a replacement strap with weird lug spacing.
Many of the reputable, and very talented, custom strap makers will make you a strap to fit any Dino often for a price less than the OEM, with quality equal or better. Not a big problem, and will give your watch a bit more personal identity in the end.
Thanks for the info. I'll check into him, The Strap Smith, and Stone Creek Straps. I'm trying to stay within CONUS for ease of access. I'm looking to have the stamped Anonimo buckle transferred to the new leather, so a somewhat local maker will make things easier.
I do have few original dz Kodiak strap including shark skin
