This thread is very interesting, but it'll get slow again. The problem is not in the number of replies or photos, but in the size of some pics. 640X480 is, in my opinion, the most efficient for the forum.

It's not so much down to the size of the image as the resolution and hence the file size. It's very handy if you've got something like Photoshop which allows you to optimise photos for the web. For those who haven't got that expensive option there are applications like Gimp http://www.gimp.org/ which do the job well and enable you to do all sorts of things, just needs a bit of practice.
