If you want a "Frog collection", you have to start with at least one of each series - 1000, 8250, 200, 8200, 9900 and of course, a 6300. By just getting one of each you already have a pretty impressive gathering.

Avoid the 6300 and 9900s. It's overpriced and you will most likely never find spare/replacement resin. black 8200. Final frog (200 series), any 1000. And the new 8250 ER with spare yellow resin for a swap. Plus there are lots of specialty flavors like glorious gold, ICERCs, etc. troll eBay and see the lot. Brazilian only if your loaded.

    Just my $.02.

The Must haves IMO if you really want to start a true frog collection:

One of these - Real Black/Black Spots/Black Helios
    One of these - Gold Defender/Snake Killer/Kermit/Carbon
    Master Blue
    ICERC (your choice)
    1000 series (your choice)
One of the Triple Crowns or a jelly if you can find it (GW-202k or 203k)
An 8200/8250 series or one of the new GF-8250s (the yellow is one of my favorites)

Of all these, probably the most versatile and most wearable in all situations is the Master Blue.
    I rather regret selling mine.

    Enjoy!

Re: Building a good Frogman Collection HELP!!

I've said before that I think a GW-2xx series frog is a good gateway frog. Get one you can wear and enjoy. Every 200 series frog was a limited release, so they are all "rare" to some extent. Some are rarer than others. It takes some research to find one you like that is in a price range you are willing to pay. There are still some resin parts available for the 200s, but none of the more rare and expensive ones. I will always advise to "collect" what you like and not for rarity to start with. If you still like, then go rare. The 200MS and Final are good ones for price and available resin. But, if you like something better, almost any 200 will look good dressed in the MS or final resin. If you are hooked, 8200 and 1000 series will follow, so beware.
Do your own research to figure out which models you desire. Everyone has their own opinions. Personally, I enjoy but don't listen to others opinions. I mod for what I want. Also a fun way to enjoy frogs.

I really like the DW-9900 btw - I don't care about availability of resin or spare parts - if I'd be worried about that I'd collect something else than G-Shocks.

    Cheers, Sedi
