    ??? Casio 6900 module 3230 ???

    Hey G-Shockers!!!
I have more G-Shocks than I would like to admit, but my question is about the 6900

I have owned several 6900's, all with the 1289 module... so I was doing my daily looking thru eBay and I noticed a 6900 with a 3230 module...

anyone out there own one with the 3230 module ?

is there a difference of any kind ( quality ???, etc???)

please respond, those of greater knowledge than myself,

    thanks,
    southpaw

    Hi Southpaw,

Casio introduced recently an updated version of the 1289 module. The only difference is the pre-programmed calendar. It doesn't stop at 2039, but now goes up tp 2099.

    Cheers,

    Sjots

thanks for the information about the calender update by Casio. I am sure this same question will surface a few more times in the near future!!!

    Hi,

I recently purchased a 6900 as well and it has the 3230 module and instruction booklet,

It also has "shock resistant" wrote on the backplate instead of the normal g-shock backplate logo.

Is this a fake ? or is it now the norm?

    Thanks :)

It's normal - it's the new module with a longer calender - the older 1289 only goes till 2039. No worries - the watch is legit.
Here's a backplate of my (now sold) "Made in China" DW-6600:

    Re: ??? Casio 6900 module 3230 ???

Thanks for the reply Sedi :)

I was worried for a second then !, I sent a snotty reply to the ebay seller I brought it off only to realise that it could actually be real.

The reasoning I got is that the back used to be made in Thailand and is now made in china so is different and that the module number has changed because of the earthquake in Japan stopping the production of 1289 modules.

Can I just confirm as well that G-shocks from don't come in a tin?

    Thanks for all your help!

    Ben

Not the back - the whole watch is now made in China but I couldn't see any difference in quality on my China-made DW-6600 - it was flawless. The packaging varies, too. Mine came in a plain blue cardboard box. The packaging is different for different countries.

    cheers, Sedi

I've had a 6900 come in an ordinary black box.
