I've got mine. It's the amazing, shiny, sparkling, minimalist piece I hoped it would be.

The Search function on vBulletin forums isn't very smart. If you want to search for a complete string in the G-Shock forum, or for posts which include multiple words, use Google, and enter site:forums.watchuseek.com/f17 into the search box. Then use normal google syntax after that to enter your search.
Very professional looking photos! Many of those could easily be used in a Casio ad.
Awesome pictures Maine. What camera are you using?

Thanks chaps. It's a very affordable DSLR combo. Canon 20D, 50mm 1.8 lens, and 13/21/31mm extension tubes for the closer macro stuff. If you stack all of them the glass touches your subject. It's hard to light those, though![]()

Really awesome pictures, Maine. Thanks for posting.
I have to wait 4-6 days for shipping still!
Great watch and great pics. Did you buy in person from a G-Shock shop or mail order.
Out of interest how did you light those pictures?

Thanks! I ordered via the F.Hinds shop in the central Milton Keynes mall. I had one on reserve from G-Shock West, but they were out of stock with some expected in a couple of weeks. So passing the F.Hinds store, I ordered one, they phoned Casio who shipped one straight out, and I picked it up a couple of days later (today). If you go to the MK store, ask for Brian. He knows what we're all on about now
Lighting was a Canon 430 EX flash on the 20D. It's usually bounced off the ceiling, with white paper to the back and sides of the watch. The white balance colour picker in Photoshop's RAW converter sets the balance from the white paper. ISO 100 for the long shots, but I need to bump it up to 400 or even 800 for the closer macros, or it won't gather enough light. A real close macro shot might need ISO 800 at f22, then a lot of NR and surface blur to take out the noise. At wider apertures at such a close distance you'll be lucky to get half a digit in focus, so a small aperture is essential for a usable pic.
On these particular shots, I didn't go past ISO 400, but some pics needed f16 for the depth of field.

Absolutely gorgeous photos! Silver is my favorite color and this watch is a piece of art in my opinion. I can't wait to own one!

Hi Maine,
These are terrific photo's of the Krink. From the earlier photo's I thought this was a nice model, your photo's make it look delicious. A very nice watch and great photography. I didn't suspect you used a flash for this.
Cheers,
Sjors

ThanksAnd I've just noticed the icing on the cake - it has a negative EL! I never thought to check that as I always use a flash (unless I'm outdoors).

Hi Maine,
I wasn't planning of buying this model, but after seeing your photo's I ordered one from the US. Probably this will end up pretty expensive with the customs fees added.
Cheers,
Sjors

Mechagodzilla find me a G-Shock in Tokyo!!
Wow, I love the look of it. The metallic, shiny kind of look. And, I must say, ever since I saw your DW-5600C post, I've been wondering what kind of camera do you have? Because the photos came out amazing. Especially the one of the tin, it looks seriously amazing.
