    my two cents is that you will get a 6600 replacement band when you will breack the 6900 buckle...

    My 6900 also has the plastic buckle, but, on the bright side it does not conduct electricity so it makes it safe when working near it.

    I kinda like the plastic buckle.

    Makes this "standard" model kinda unique in a world of metal buckles.

    I've been on a fashion G kick lately, and I find the basic DW-6900 kinda appealing

    Basic black with the tri-color lettering and tri-colored face actually has quite a bit going on for a wal-mart cheapie.
