    CONVENIENT SOLAR CHARGER

From Amazon today. Nice fitting rubber ring. Holds a GWG perfectly. Strong lum strength. Slight warmth with all the LEDs, but not nearly as warm as sitting in the sun. Looks to be convenient to use. Don't know if its been seen here before. Sorry if it had.

I've seen this one before on Amazon. I think it has been mentioned on WUS more than once, and the posters seemed to like it.

As long as it doesn't make the watch too hot, it should be fine. This is a function of both the heat emitted by the unit itself (apparently minimal) and also the heat produced by charging circuit and battery of the watch (faster charge = more heat). I recall one poster on WUS making an extension tube for the charging unit, to keep the watch farther away and cooler.

Actually giving it a test run now. Watch has been on the light for 30 mins. and NO warmth to the watch face. It is at room/ambient temp.

I've seen it on here, Amazon and fleabay. Mixed reviews as to its durability and poor quality. Many have said its fragile. Is this the USB or DC converter model? The USB one has better reviews as the DC over heats and fries.

The Sun is free in more ways than one....free to borrow, free to rent, free to buy, free to use. It is "green", no cost electrically.

This is the USB unit. It'll just sit by the phone charger and printer, and get plugged in. Hopefully it'll last as it won't see much ware and tear.

Walmart sells an LED lamp for $5 that'll charge a watch reasonably quick. It also doubles as a lamp!

    Re: CONVENIENT SOLAR CHARGER

Been using one for the past week or two and it seems nice. After 8+ hours on it'll be every so slightly warm, but it's similar to how the back of the watch feels after coming off the wrist (from skin contact). Very minimal.

I like it better than the window sill where it could overheat, or where the UV could prematurely break down the resin. (Overthinking achievement unlocked!)

For those who care an unreasonable amount about "topping off" the charge on the watch, it's good for that sort of peace of mind. Some dislike not knowing if the "H" means just barely past "M" or all the way at the top, you know?
