Conversion of G-Shockers at the store this evening!

I was looking at the Gs and Suuntos at Paragon in NYC this evening. And all at once some dudes from a fraternity wearing hip-hop clothes descended upon the G-Shock counter. They were wearing color-coordinated Gs, matching their jerseys. The most enthusiastic guy had a G on each wrist. One watch matched his jersey's dominant color lime green, the other matched the red and black accents he was also wearing. Cool! These guys wanted to see the gel Frogman, but were really hoping to find an all-black one.

And then right behind these guys was a cop with sergeant stripes on his blue uniform. Peeking out from under the long sleeves, he was also wearing a lime green G, I think a Riseman! Figure the odds, two lime green G-Shocks at the same time at the same counter, and one on a cop in uniform. The cop wanted to see the model that I had already picked out: the military black DW6900MS1.

So since I'm a newcomer to all this, and I knew the cop liked that model too, I asked the fraternity guys if they approved of my choice. They said "Hell yeah!!"

So I got it - what more can I say??

Doubt it...the green Riseman was a joint Joakim/Sjors April fool's joke. The production model doesn't actually exist.

We celebrated my sons B-Day this past weekend at our local Game room / bounce & jump & bash place. As I walked around the place I noticed all these guys with the same MO, Military hair cuts, Tat's with eagles & snakes, kids with crew cuts, huge, and of course 5 out of 6 had some type of stealthed "G". The one guy that didn't have on a "G" had a Citizen Eco Drive Skyhawk, of course the Pilot!

fun story, thanks for sharing. i live in a less densely-populated area, so on a typical day i rarely notice bright g's on others....

I sometimes get surprises of this sort at work. Initially I thought I was the only one rocking a G-Shock, then I started noticing more and more employees sporting their own Gs. One was even wearing an atomic G, really amazing since those aren't available locally. Out of the five Casio watch owners in our division, four are wearing G-Shocks and one is sporting a Protrek.

Even a couple of our reporters are wearing Gs to the field, one looks to be from the G-300 series and the other is a G9000-3V Mudman.

I do have to take exception to the security personnel though. Some of them are wearing conterfeit Frogmen, simply because they don't know any better.

Sucks to be without a G.

Greatest place I recently visited was the Bronx Zoo in NYC, plenty of "Eye Candy" for WIS. I plan another visit with camera in hand!! It seemed to also have a variety of (for me anyway) seldom seen "G's" like I saw both a white and a yellow "Silencer", plenty of vintage "Muddies", and great for me was it's some what summer here so there where minimal black "G's", it was a color explosion!!!
