    Frogman Comparison

    Hi,

I am new to G-Shocks and looking for some info on the comparison of

    G-9300-1ER - G-Shock Frogman Gents Digital Watch | Watches | Goldsmiths - £175

    vs.

    GWF-1000BS-1JF - G-Shock Frogman Gents Digital Watch | Goldsmiths Jewellers | GWF-1000BS-1JF - £550

There is quite a price difference

The latter is stainless steel and has quartz... that's all I can see different

    Any help please

the first one is not a frogman - it is the latest generation mudman
gwf1000 series is known to be very expensive; especially with regards to "limited edition" like the gwf1000bs
if you are interested in the new module with tide graph, why don't you give the GF8250s a try.
Have a look at the yellow frog
    http://watchshock.com/archive/Casio/...man/GF-8250-9/
Or the men in military frog
    http://watchshock.com/archive/Casio/...n/GF-8250ER-2/

They are pretty much the same wit the gwf-1000 series module-wise, apart from the lack of atomic sync function.

you might find this link helpful.

    cheers

Yes. The first one is a Mudman. Good to know our UK jewellers are on the ball.

The frogman is the top of the line g-shock that basically is better built in every department. Buttons feel great and solid, case is screw back, metal is either titanium of dlc coated. the waterproofness is actually tested properly....that takes it up to a price of around 250GBP compared to mudman...riseman. If you want an atomic version then basically that add 15GBP in material, but probably 50GBP in casio world...so we are at 300GBP.

Then because it is a frogman you pay an extra 200GBP for stock colour scheme and the injection moulded face! I looked at the frogman in Selfridges Trafford Centre Manchester UK just yesterday. Lovely watch...but the markup is probably more than that of Rolex and Omega....because it is a Froggie.

I will get one....but probably not when I'm being sensible. IF you want a great all round g-shock with some gadgets and coolness...look at the riseman. I got mine a while back for 100GBP from amazon.

Thanks people, trust Goldsmiths to get it wrong!

I do fancy an atomic watch though :)

Go for the Riseman - this is absolutely without question the very very best bang for your buck G-shock in the UK (altimeter, barometer, solar, atomic etc) and really preferable to that Mudman - Amazon price is £141 but PM me and I can PM back an Amazon link to get 20% off (makes it £111).

Riseman's are cool. Get one. If I the Riseman were a planet, it would be in its ascent.

And if I knew that a Riseman owner was coming, I would dress up and and hire a tent and put a wig on and tell him that great things were afoot. ...And I would be right.
