    G-shock and profession?

    Hi All,

After looking through the threads about being too old to wear a g-shock and the one about it being inappropriate to wear a g-shock with a suit, I'm a little curious about the professions of everyone who wears a g-shock to work.

I'm a safety specialist at a manufacturing plant and my automatic watches started to get scratched and beaten up pretty badly at work, which is why I decided to pick up a GW-5600J and GW7900B-1 for daily wear. (I also have another one on the way, and I'm eyeing a Riseman! (GW-9200RJ-4JF to be specific))

So what does everyone else do in terms of profession where they get to wear a G to work? :)

If voluntary work counts, I'm presently an adviser at the Citizen's Advice Bureau, and they don't seem to mind what you wear there. There's an elderly male adviser who wears brightly coloured odd socks. Businesslike or friendly/eccentric both seem to work equally well. :)

Trauma nurse, of all my watches, it's only the G that could take the abuse of my daily grind

    Re: G-shock and profession?

I was a military Air Traffic Controller before and currently am an airline pilot... I've been wearing G-Shocks to work since forever...

Started with my DW8500, then to a DW8300, followed by a Wademan and finally a ProTrek PRG-80YT... Of course I've worn other watches on the odd occasion...

But most if not all of the time, it was always a G-shock... Until I got the ProTrek, which is not really considered a G-Shock I guess.

I still am wearing the ProTrek regularly to work and only wearing my Gs on my Off Days.
I also have no idea why...

And surprisingly enough, I have a colleague who only just asked me a few days ago if it was OK to wear a white watch to work...

I do see alot of Breitlings at work though... Omegas... Fortis... etc etc.

36+ years as a police officer. Can't beat the g-shock. At times I've worn other watches but they've been broken, ripped off my wrist, etc. Off duty I wear my Omega Speedmaster and an assortment of Seikos.
